One minute · A longer poem
She is always on time.
Never misses a practice.
Team Captain.
Never complains.
She is on the Dean's list.
She is ready to do this.
But.
Something is wrong.
She can feel it.
She is tired.
She does not have words for it yet.
Just a feeling.
Then she sees it.
The feeling has a shape now.
The shape has a name.
The data is saying what her body
has been saying all morning.
And in the same instant,
five others see it with her.
She is not alone in it.
Movement II · What changes
She does not push through.
She pauses.
She rests.
She recovers.
She trains intelligently.
This is the part that is different.
She is not weaker for resting.
She is wiser.
She has a program.
Built for her,
from what her body said.
She has a common language now —
with her mother,
with her coach,
with herself.
My left side is asking for more work today.
My movement is cleaner this week.
I am ready, and I know why.
She has agency.
She has direction.
Her body.
Her understanding.
Her decision.
