Tomas Anthony — Founder & CEO, Everyday Athlete

Every year, 250,000 American kids tear their ACL. We've known for two decades that 64–73% are preventable. We just haven't had the right tool.

The surgery costs $25,000. The recovery takes 12 months. The re-injury rate is 23%. And the mental toll — the missed seasons, the self-doubt, the identity crisis of a young athlete who built their life around a sport and is suddenly sidelined — is immeasurable. That's why I built Everyday Athlete.

I'm Tomas Anthony — a lifelong athlete and performance specialist based in New York City. After years working with youth athletes and watching talented kids lose entire seasons — sometimes their entire athletic identity — to injuries that could have been predicted and prevented, I decided to build the platform I wished existed.

Everyday Athlete's core technology is the EA SLS Protocol — a dual-state Single Leg Squat assessment that scores movement quality across 8 biomechanical planes under both unloaded and loaded conditions. The differential between those two states is our proprietary injury risk signal: the number no other platform is measuring.

We've built it into BetterAthlete™ — the assessment platform operating at three levels: Clinical Grade (our NYC facility for precise, individualized assessments), Club Grade (the EA Assessment Kit: a portable system any certified coach can use), and Mobile Grade (the BetterAthlete™ smartphone app). All three run on the Everyday Balance® protocol — our systematic methodology for athletic health, developed over 25+ years of real-world movement assessment.

Our target: the 50 million youth athletes in the U.S. who have never had a professional movement assessment. With World Cup 2026 arriving in New York City, there has never been a better moment.
